BCU Foundation sponsors Holodomor exhibit
BCU Foundation is the main sponsor of the exhibit
Holodomor: Genocide by Famine produced by the League of
Ukrainian Canadians. The exhibit was launched on Friday,
April 18 at Toronto's City Hall where it will be on
display through April 26.
In conjunction with the launch, the
International Holodomor Remembrance Flame
arrived in Canada. The Remembrance Flame,
which will travel to 33 countries to raise
Holodomor awareness, was accepted in Canada
by Dr. Ihor Ostash, Ukraine's Ambassador to
Canada, and UCC president Mr. Paul Grod.
On the initiative of the Ukrainian
Canadian Congress, the Flame will visit 16
Canadian cities escorted by Holodomor
survivor Mr. Stefan Horlatsch.

Ottawa community commemorates the Holodomor
Buduchnist Credit
Union invited the Ottawa community to an
evening commemorating the 75th anniversary
of the Holodomor
The program featured presentations about the
Holodomor commemorations and planned
activities in Canada throughout 2008.

Director, presented the community projects
funded by the Foundation since its launch in
2006. The Foundation's Yurij Skripchinski
Holodomor Education Fund has been a major
contributor to Holodomor awareness and
education initiatives.

A donation
was presented to BCU Foundation from St.
John the Baptist Ukrainian School
specifically for the Holodomor Fund. The
cheque was presented by school director Luba
Burij-Patterson and past director Oksana
Rennie.

honoured Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.

Buduchnist was a proud
sponsor of the Tyrsa Ukrainian Dance School’s Easter Egg
Bingo and Silent Auction. Tyrsa is affiliated with the
Holy Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian
Catholic Church in Burlington, Ontario.
Social Services welcomes Buduchnist
Maxym
Trojan, the Credit Union’s Wealth Management
department manager, was guest speaker at “Svitlychka” on
March 5. Svitlychka is a weekly informative meeting organized by
Ukrainian Canadian Social Services in Toronto for
seniors and new Canadians. Maksym spoke about the
products and services offered by Buduchnist with an
emphasis on wealth management and estate planning.

of the Ukrainian city Lviv. Guests were entertained by
singer Ihor Bohdan from Calgary.

(Ukrainian New Year festivities) in January.

Villa Kyiv welcomes Buduchnist
Residents of the seniors'
home, Villa Kiev, in Hamilton warmly welcomed Buduchnist
staff during an introduction of the Credit Union's
products and services on January 23.
Staff of the Hamilton
branch will be visiting Villa Kiev once a week enabling
residents to take full advantage of the services offered
by the Credit Union.
Participating in the
reception were students and teachers from Holy Spirit
Ukrainian bilingual school who entertained the guests
with carols.

Ottawa children celebrate St. Nicholas
Day

The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada and
Buduchnist Credit Union Ottawa branch
jointly organized St. Nicholas day
festivities for the Ottawa community's
children.
Over 75 children participated in
the event held December 18 at Christ the
Savior Orthodox Church. Everyone received a
beautiful book of Ukrainian tales presented
by BCU's Lys Mykyta.

hand
Buduchnist loves this time of year
when the Credit Union and its staff help St. Nicholas
bring smiles to our children's faces. Buduchnist
participated in St. Nicholas Day festivities in our
pre-school programs as well as bilingual and heritage
schools throughout Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton and
Ottawa.
